Manny Blu

Manny Blu, country music’s promising newcomer, wasn’t always on a musical trajectory. His sights were first set on hockey and MMA, but an unfortunate MMA injury in 2013 ended his athletic career. While recovering from his injury, Manny found inspiration in B.B. King’s blues, and picked up a guitar.

Even though music didn’t come first to Manny, he has a few family ties to it.  Manny’s family immigrated to Canada from Italy about half a century ago. One of his grandfather’s many jobs was playing clarinet in the local band in Montreal.  With the earnings he made from performing, Manny’s grandfather gifted his family with the money so they could start up their cheese business. Even Manny’s mom grew up learning and playing classical piano.

In 2018, Manny would find himself moving from his hometown of Montreal, Quebec to Music City itself. In Nashville, Tennessee, Manny honed his craft and was inspired by the creativity of the city and the talents of Jordan Davis, John Mayer, Sam Hunt, and Adam Levine. Taking his inspiration to the studio, Manny recorded his debut album at Blackbird Studios, where Alicia Keys, Dan + Shay, Ed Sheeran, Kane Brown, and many others recorded and perfected their sound. Leave It Like It Is, a collection of seven upbeat country tunes, was released June 7, 2019.

Manny took is lively rhythms and larger-than-life stage presence on the road, opening for George Canyon’s Hit After Hit Tour throughout Canada in the spring of 2019. Not one to ever slow down, Manny is getting back on the road to headline his own eastern Canadian tour this fall. Manny Blu is also back in the studio recording his next musical offering set to release next year.
